Suggested changes

Hi Lesoria, thanks for joining and contributing so much content and ideas so soon. I've actually been thinking about the kind of changes you are suggesting, i.e. compiling a lot of stubs into one long article. This would be an excellent idea if this were Wikipedia. However, I'm not sure at this point if this is the way we should go on the ZL Wiki. The intent here really is to one day have a complete article for everything. It's true that this won't happen soon, but if enough Zelda fans get involved it could happen sooner than you think. In the meantime, your suggestion *could* be carried out in modified form, perhaps by putting compiled lists into the corresponding category. For example, the compilation of sword techniques could go into the sword techniques category. I also agree completely that magic spells and sword techniques should go in different categories. They are only together because that's how it was on the site's old encyclopedia. -davogones 04:43, 28 January 2006 (EST)

Thanks for the response! I'm trying hard to not suggest a whole bunch of radical changes, because I can understand why things are the way they are (and in many cases would have taken the same road myself to begin with). This is the main reason I put a sandbox on my user page, so I can experiment and show off possibilities, without actually touching anything.
I'm hoping to add much more, because I really want for there to be a very inclusive Zelda information place on the web, and Zelda Legends Wiki looks to be headed in the right direction. --Lesoria 04:49, 28 January 2006 (EST)

Categories for images???

Hi Lesoria. I've seen your hard work in just one day (more than I in two weeks). There's only one thing I don't agree with. You have put the images in categories! I think that there's no reason for putting them into categories, because they are inside the articles. But if they were to be in categories, they should be in different ones: i.e. The Aveil image of shouldn't be in Category: Majora's Mask Characters but, for example in Category: Majora's Mask Sprites BTW Have you read the articles I've written (Rauru and Ancient Sages)?--Arturo 13:03, 29 January 2006 (EST)

I think having the images in categories is a good thing. The only thing I want to know is how to customize the image display in the category list, because its overflowing the content area. -davogones 13:56, 29 January 2006 (EST)
You two decide which you prefer, and I'll undo the categorizing if that's what's decided on. I do agree that some of them should be in different catergories that I put them in (if they are to be in categories). I suppose I was mainly experimenting, and knew I'd get a reponse on it possibly saying to undo it. If you two decide that the categories could say, but with some sort of changes to categorization, I can look into where MediaWiki stores the table definition for the gallery.
What about having screenshots in related "Screenshots" galleries, official artwork in "Official Artwork" galleries, etc?
Again, if it's decided to remove them, I can run a script to go through an remove them easily.
(Believe it or not, I haven't had the time to more than skim the Rauru and Ancient Sages; I'll definitely read existing articles in more depth as I work on more articles in depth.) --Lesoria 19:23, 29 January 2006 (EST)

Japanese TMC names

I just wanted to know where you got the Japanese name for June from, because I've been looking for a Japanese resource for completing my translation tables of the other articles. I see that you have been very busy on the site so far, which is great! Only Davgones, Arturo, Keirin and me have been actively working on it. --Iron Knuckle 10:45, 30 January 2006 (EST)

I have a translation table written down on paper -- I should type it all up and put it in my sandbox so anyone can use it as well. But I have a busy schedule at the moment, so I can't just yet. As soon as I get it typed up and put up, I'll let you know! --Lesoria 20:30, 30 January 2006 (EST)

Oh, thanks a lot. I have similar table for the TWW, but it excludes the Japanese names. I can put it up, if you (and the other members) find it useful. BTW, do you have the Japanese game; or did you find those names from some different resource, if I may ask?--Iron Knuckle 03:58, 31 January 2006 (EST)

I don't have the Japanese version, but I've borrowed it and played through, taking notes on names as I went through (as well as getting names from various friends in conversations about the name), all written up in a notebook. Unfortunately, my writing's sloppy, so it's hard to read sometimes...
If you make your list available in some way, I can fill in all the Japanese names.
