Description

Overall

Anju doesn’t really have a name in Ocarina of Time, but her character sprite is the same as in Majora’s Mask. So that is why they are both described here. In both games she wears exactly the same blue robes.

Ocarina of Time

In OoT she had a cucco corral for her seven cuccos spread throughout Kakariko Village. Because she had allergies of these chickens the young Link had to find them all seven for her, in return she gives you an Empty Bottle.

Seven years later when Link visits her as an adult, she gives him a Pocket Egg so Link could hatch a new type of miniature cuccos. After waking Talon with the Pocket Cucco, you can trade another special cucco with her; her own brother’s cucco. This is the blue chicken called Cojiro, here is where you start with the rest of OoT’s trading game to eventually obtain the Sword of Biggoron.

Although not many people noticed, her brother’s father is the Head Carpenter. Meaning that the big bloke at Kakariko Village entrance is also her father.

Majora's Mask

In Majora’s Mask Anju is a young lady who has a fiancée called Kafei. However by the Skull kid and Sakon’s doing Kafei is missing for a some time now. The skull kid changed him into a child and Sakon stole his Sun Mask. Kafei’s disappearance leaves Anju behind not knowing whet ever he will show up for the wedding.

Anju is also the current owner of the Stock Pot Inn. A very small hotel in Clock Town, in fact it only has two rooms for visitors. The place is almost fully booked for entire season, people always have to make reservations to stay a night at the inn.

Anju’s family consists of her Anju's Grandmother living in one of the backrooms of the inn and her mother who only appears at the night of the second day and the final day. Anju’s father has died quite some time, not much is known other than his name: Tortus. In her younger days the Stock Pot Inn used to be a cafeteria, but ever since her father died things have changed. At noon Anju always delivers Granny a meal, but every day grandmother uses the same trick every day to skip the lunch. The main reason is that Anju is not very good at cooking, meaning that the result is not so edible.

Clock Cycle

Day 1:

Time Activity
06:00–09:45 Anju waits at the reception to welcome any visitors.
08:00 Stock Pot Inn opens its front door.
09:45–11:30 She starts cooking lunch meal for her grandmother. Talk to her now and she’ll tell you about her family.
11:30–13:30 Delivers the meal to granny who will refuse it, then she walks upstairs into her own room. Anju probably eats her meal her since she doesn’t come back with the plate.
13:30–15:00 Anju waits at the reception again. Talk to her now and say you have a reservation, this will give you the Room Key.
14:00–14:15 The Postman comes in, now you can witness a conversation between her and the postman.
14:15–16:30 Talk to her now with Kafei’s Mask on and Anju will ask you to meet her at 23:30.
15:00–15:15 A Goron named Link (Goron NOT Darunia's Son) comes in and asks for the reservation, if you have the Room Key Link will have to sleep outside.
20:30 Anju will close the inn for today, if you don’t have the Room Key you will be thrown out. After that she walks to her own room.
23:30- 05:00 Anju will wait for you in the kitchen of the inn. Her she will ask of you to deposit Anju’s Letter in one of the mailboxes in town (This only happens if you agreed to meet earlier on).

Day 2:

Time Activity
06:00–09:45 Anju waits at the reception to welcome any visitors.
08:00 Stock Pot Inn opens its front door.
09:45–11:30 She starts cooking lunch meal for her grandmother.
11:30–13:30 Delivers the meal to granny who will refuse it, then she walks upstairs into her own room. Anju probably eats her meal her since she doesn’t come back with the plate.
13:30–20:30 She will ask about Kafei, if you met him you can give her the Pendant of Memories. By doing so Anju stays until the end in Clock Town.
20:30 Anju will close the inn for today, if you don’t have the Room Key you will be thrown out. After that she walks to her own room.
21:00- 05:00 Go into your room using the Room Key and check out the crack in the right wall. You will now witness a conversation between her and her mother. If you gave Anju the Pendant she will stay in the inn, else she will be convinced by her mother that he won’t come back and decides for her to leave to Romani’s Ranch.

Day 3:

Time Activity
06:00–11:00 Anju is sweeping the floor of the back room with a broom. You can still give her the “Pendant of Memories”. By doing so Anju will decide to stay until the end within Clock Town.
11:00 Anju goes to her own room.
18:00 Mother and Grandmother have left the Inn and so will Anju if you didn’t gave her the pendant. They can now be found at Romani’s House in the bed room, even so Anju still thinks about Kafei and wonders if she should have stayed behind. If you did give it to her she will be in her room, the door is unlocked now.
04:00–05:59 If you helped Kafei in retrieving his Sun Mask, Kafei will enter Anju’s Room and the two of them are reunited and they offer you the Couple’s Mask. After obtaining this you better go to the Moon very quickly, or use the Song of Time to get out of there.

Miscellaneous Notes

As one of the Gossip Stones mentions one of Anju’s habits is to mix up guests, she also seems to apologize immediately after asking something. These habits might be due to her mind that is wandering of every time, thinking about where Kafei might be.

If you got the couple’s Mask and then watch the game’s credits you actually see a part of the wedding ceremony, but oddly enough Kafei is nowhere to be seen.
