If Link throws it on the ground near a pig, the little oinker will dig up some great treasure. If he throws it in the water near a leaping fisherman, then Link will be provided with information on the island sector he is in. When placed in front of a rat hole inside a dungeon, the rat will offer Link something (at a costly price). Link cannot hold bait until he has purchased a bait bag from Beeble’s Shop Ship and afterwards, he can hold up to 24 servings of the delicious bait at one time.
